"Tomorrow is the most important thing in life...it hopes we've learned something from yesterday." -John Wayne, Academy-Award Winning American Actor,John Wayne books and DVDs//
Learning is one of the keys to achieving success in life. We learn from the past; we learn from books; we learn from people; and, we learn most things through experience and making mistakes.
History teaches us that although the players may change, most problems or challenges we face in relationships or society are the same from generation to generation. As such, we can learn from the past and apply it to the future to improve ourselves, our experiences and our world.
Books inform and entertain us, and whether you are reading a paperback or eBook, the act of reading helps to stimulate and program your mind. We improve our understanding of things by taking the time to read about them. Reading is like doing mental calisthenics.
People show and explain things to us, which helps us to learn in different ways or expand upon things read. Engaging with others about a particular topic stretches your mental muscles because it forces you to organize your thoughts. Dialogue is a particularly useful way to enhance comprehension.
Experience is probably what most people consider to be the best teacher. We learn by doing. Most people focus on learning from mistakes, but it is equally important to learn from successes. Through mistakes, we learn what not do again; however, through successes, we can learn what to do more often.
Every minute of every day we are engaged in the process of learning. The more we learn, the more potential we have to improve ourselves and our lives. As Wayne says, tomorrow hopes that we learn from yesterday. Whatever you choose to learn today will affect how your life unfolds tomorrow.

maYou are quite right Jeremy. This message needs to be spread by everyone.
I worry about and sometimes even fear the man who grows so comfortable with himself and his surrounding that he chooses to stop learning or finds it unnecessary. Some of us have a thirst for knowledge that cannot be quenched, so everyday offers such great possibilities. However, some have lost that hunger or perhaps never had it...whatever the reason, we must remind them of the wonders of knowledge. We must show them why and how knowledge makes us powerful and fruitful while ignorance inslaves us and diminishes our potential.
I think you're right. Knowledge aids understanding, while ignorance breeds mediocrity. Thanks!
