"If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance." -George Bernard Shaw, Renowned Irish Author, George Bernard Shaw books//
This is a guest post by Bill Tamminga founder of GoalRevolution, a company that provides tools to encourage and motivate people to get what they want in every area of their lives.
There's no getting around it - everybody makes mistakes. And the more well-known we are, the more attention those mistakes receive. Lurking everywhere are critics who will gladly tear us down and diminish the good we've done.
The worst hours are the ones immediately following an exposed failure, but life always gets better as time heals things and we return to some level of sanity. Ultimately, we want to turn those negative experiences into positive ones.
Here are a few steps to help next time you find yourself caught in a failure:
1) Don't ignore the issue, but address it in your own time.
2) Admit your shortcomings and ask the forgiveness of those who have been harmed, if needed.
3) Turn your thoughts toward solutions and ideas to improve the situation.
4) Take action toward a better future.
Next time you get yourself in a tough spot, turn it into a positive and make those skeletons dance.
